Chrysa in Bremen // 2nd Report

I am happy to present my second report on my volunteer experience in Bremen. Over the past seven months, I have had the privilege of immersing myself in a completely different culture and embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with living in a foreign country.

Living abroad has been a transformative experience, both personally and professionally. I have been pushed beyond my comfort zone, forced to adapt to new environments and rules, and developed a deeper understanding of the world around me.

However, it has come with its fair share of everyday struggles. From navigating the complex German bureaucracy to overcoming language barriers, I have faced numerous challenges. Another aspect of everyday life in Bremen that took some getting used to is the weather. The long, gray winters can be challenging. These difficulties, however, have been valuable lessons in resilience and adaptability.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my time in Bremen has been the opportunity to meet and live with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a volunteer at NaturKultur, I have worked alongside individuals from various parts of the world. The sharing of customs, traditions, and experiences has created a sense of global community that transcends borders.

In summary, my seven months as a volunteer in Bremen have been an enlightening and enriching experience. The people I’ve met, the work I’ve done, and the cultural immersion I’ve experienced have all contributed to this journey. I look forward to the remaining months of my volunteering here.
