Omnia mea mecum porta
I carry everything with me
My dreams, ideas, expectations and even fears before my arrival. All of them changing and often intertwining in the process… The blurred memories of my one-year Bremen life that has not yet ended and has not yet cooled down. I am sitting on the other side of Germany writing these lines, this is also a part of my dreams that changed in the process. After getting used to the routine of the new life, I am left alone with myself and the questions in my head gather in one place. Where is home? A place where you know people you love, where you collect memories on the streets? Where you can walk the streets blindfolded or where you plan to build a future? After so many questions, the answer comes to a very simple point. Where I
am happy. Bremen, the beloved warm Schwarzer Weg is one of my homes and will always remain a part of my heart. The cookies I made with my friends even on the days when we couldn’t go out because of the cold and the rain, During the year I traveled a lot in Germany and Europe, The friendships I made on the road and countless memories,
The experiences I had at the Tobias-Schule, the dozens of children I hugged, Solo-trips, Some friendships that have now become family ties, All of these and many other positive and negative (mostly positive) experiences that I can’t think of right now have contributed a lot to my personal development.
I learned to say no, ahah!
…
What a year!
(Sometimes it feels like 3 years concentrated, sometimes like 3 months that flew by
so fast!)
See you again and again, meine geliebte Stadt Bremen!
Zehra was hosted by Tobiasschule und Kindergarten e.V. on our project co-funded by the European Union.
