Alex in Bremen // 1st Report

Hi, I’m Alex and I’m 20 years old and I come from Malaga, Spain.
You might wonder how I ended up in this beautiful country where you can hardly see the sun and it rains a lot more. Actually, I don’t really know how I ended up here, but I know it was the right choice because now I feel like I belong to something. I’m meeting a lot of people who I like and who fill me with knowledge.

I live with four other people at home from four different countries: France, Hungary, Macedonia and Turkey, and I love the evenings when we are together cooking something, like a pizza, or watching a movie with the projector in the room. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’ve lived with them forever and I’ve known them forever; I feel like I’ve been really lucky to find them.

At work, I am learning more and more every day (Tobias Schule) and I have realised how many prejudices I had. For the first time, I’m trying to push myself to become stronger mentally and physically – who would have thought my mini-me would be joining a gym just to be able to do a pull-up?

The kids do amazing things and I have loved learning about the different views on education from my country to Germany, or at least at this school. Here they learn things that they will really use in the future. We also have cooking classes, which is really great. It’s not at the same level as my grandmother’s, but almost. The food is really good and I got to know the gastronomy of the country day by day.
The teacher has taught me to read and helps me to try things I have never done before, he is one of the few people I know who is really passionate about what he likes and enjoys it and with this and a cake as we say in Spain, see you in three months.

Alex is hosted by Tobiasschule und Kindergarten e.Von our project co-funded by the European Union.
