Maite in Bremen // 2nd Report

As my volunteering experience in Bremen with a program supporting people with special needs draws to a close, I find myself filled with a wealth of emotions. It’s been a transformative journey that’s left an indelible mark on my heart and it’s given me the chance to connect with a wonderful community and broaden my horizons in more ways than I could have imagined.

Every day brings new challenges and heartwarming moments. Working alongside individuals with different and special needs lets you witness incredible strength, resilience, and a passion for life that’s truly inspiring. It’s an experience that teaches you patience, empathy, and the importance of finding joy in the simple things.

I’ve made some amazing friends. We’ve explored the city together, sampled delicious German food, and learned so much about each other’s cultures. It’s been an enriching experience that’s fostered a sense of belonging and community. During our time off, we also ventured beyond the city to explore other parts of Germany, which gave me a unique perspective on German culture and history. It was an incredible way to complement this experience and gain a more well-rounded understanding of the country.

In short, volunteering in Bremen has been a life-changing experience. It’s allowed me to grow as a person, make new friends, and gain a deeper appreciation for German culture. This experience has left me eager to continue contributing to communities around the world. The connections I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned will stay with me forever.

If you’re looking for a way to give back and have an unforgettable adventure, I highly recommend it!
