Folk dance is an expression of culture. It´s not only the dance itself, but the whole setting of music, food and clothing that make it a unique expression of cultural identity. For centuries, all over Europe cultures have had folk dances and because it has been practices for so long, dancing a folk dance is a remembrance of our ancestors who danced the very same dance. Unfortunately the practice and presence of these dances are disappearing. Our project aims to ignite the spark within our societies and bring folk dance back alive as an expression of cultural identity.
